Thomas Cook

The Brief

In early 2009 we were given the brief of designing and delivering a Leadership Development Programme that further develops the leadership capabilities of the Thomas Cook UK and Ireland Senior team. The programme had to be focused on leadership and have a strong behavioural element, whilst also providing individuals with a management tool kit.

The Approach

We branded the programme 'Inspire and Sustain' to build on the client's programme concept of Inspire, which is at the heart of a leader's responsibility. The 'Sustain' theme was significant as it sent the message that it is about leaders shaping an environment and culture where high levels of performance can be maintained. We then developed 3 x 2 day workshops; 'Lead our business','Change our businesses' and 'Run our business'. This reflected the comprehensive nature of the programme.

Programme Success

The programme has been a huge success and a recent survey has highlighted the tangible impact on the organisation. There have been an abundance of very high ratings so far in all areas. These include; facilitator's knowledge and delivery, impact on participant's teams and relevancy of course content to job role. Quotes from participants below, highlight the programmes success so far.
